Description: Blurry Mess is a First Person Narrative game where Players get in the shoes of a Game Design with Short Sightedness who has broken their glasses. The Player will have the same perspective as the student without their glasses and will be short sighted, they won’t be able to see anything clearly but thanks to the Squint Mechanic they will be able to single some items and focus their vision in a small window of their vision.

Responsibilities:

Game Designer:

  • Created the concept of taking on the role of a person with short sightedness and the main mechanic being the blurry vision that can focus on a singular line of vision to make items HD, inspired by myself.
  • Designed Level for the characters Bedroom on Paper.

Level Design for Main Bedroom on Paper.

  • Grey Boxed or did a Block out for the bedroom on Unity using colors to differentiate objects and keeping in mind catching the Player’s attention so they could use the mechanic to focus their vision on some objects

Greybox Images of Bedroom

  • Designed the environment of the apartment so that it fits our character’s background of being a student with roommates in College all studying Game Design.
  • Added items to the environment for Environmental Storytelling for the player to figure out how the character broke their glasses and where to potentially fiend their phone.
