Background Music and its effect on Flow State for the intended Player Experience

Description: This research project was made to study how much the context of music and the appropriate gameplay matters to a game and how much it would possibly affect player behavior and player flow state.

To study this we took the demo of a famous horror game called “Resident Evil 4” and changed its BGM based on which group the participant was in.

We had a control group with silent horror music, a group with intense action game music and a group with cozy game music.
